Start Making Your Embellished Moroccan Slippers With Felt
Step 1: Cut Out the Motifs
Enlarge the three templates by your desired amount and transfer them onto tracing paper. Use a ruler to outline the straight edges of the bead. Transfer the motifs onto Bristol board and carefully cut them out. Place templates A and B on the reverse side of the purple felt and trace the outlines twice using a white gel pen. Place the bead template on the violet felt and create six copies. Cut out motifs A and B using embroidery scissors. For the bead motifs, achieve a neater cut using a rotary cutter, ruler, and cutting mat.
Step 2: Paint the Motifs
Using a fine-tipped paintbrush, apply a thin line of glitter paint around the outer edge of each piece on the right side of the fabric. Be cautious not to make the line too thick; instead, make it thin and apply another layer if needed. Let it dry for at least two hours, then apply a thin layer of water-based gouache varnish over the glitter paint to set it. Our embellished Moroccan slippers with felt are coming along nicely.

Step 3: Make the Beads
Apply a stripe of glue to the back of each bead motif and roll the felt up, starting from the widest end. Hold the bead for a few minutes to allow the glue to take hold.
Step 4: Attach the Motifs
Apply glue to the reverse side of motifs A and B, then adhere the pieces to the slippers in the following order: top bead, motif B at the tip of the slipper, motif A, and finally, the two remaining beads.
