Make Embossed Cards The Easy Way
I really love to make embossed cards and papers. Although it is a very subtle design that is added to them, I think they look really pretty. There are several different ways you can do embossing, the easiest and most affordable way is placing the paper over a pre cut stencil, on a flat surface. Then rubbing and applying pressure to it.
My Aunt is lucky enough to have an embossing machine with embossing folders. But I am showing you this method, as it is not necessary to go out and buy loads of equipment to make something beautiful.
Try a load of these embossed cards on pieces of scrap paper to get the technique. Then if you like anything you make you can cut them out and keep them.

How To Do Paper Embossing To Make Embossed Cards
1st Stage
You need to start with a cut out shape. You can make your own cut outs or even buy stencils. Start by placing your stencil or cut out onto a flat work surface and place your chosen paper on top. This could be plain paper, coloured paper, anything you like.
2nd Stage
You now need to hold your paper down firmly so that it cannot move around. Then rub the embossing tool over the cut out area to define the shape and edges.
You can buy embossing tools from a craft shop, or a wooden tongue depressor or ice lolly stick can work also. You will need to increase the pressure until the shape gains a clear indentation on the paper.

3rd Stage
Now you can trim your embossed paper design to fit onto a different colour card background with a matching envelope. Or you can punch a hole in the top, thread some ribbon through and use it as a gift tag. Or even make a matching set.
