Imagine Making Cheeky Fun Crocodile Decorations
These fun crocodile decorations are easy to make and really add some fun and interest to your room. Once you make one, you won't be able to stop making more fun crocodile decorations.
With big teeth and stick on eyes they are really fun to make. But the clever knobbly backs make them even more interesting.
I actually use one of these fun crocodile decorations to hold my paintbrush. I rest the paintbrush end just past the crocodile's back, in the slot, so the end doesn't make a mess of the desk.
What We Need To Make Fun Crocodile Decorations
- Paper for the template
- Scissors
- Pencil
- 1 piece of A4 or letter sized card for each crocodile
- 2 stick on googly eyes
- PVA glue
- White paint
- Small paintbrush
We Start Our Fun Crocodile Decorations With A Template
Step One
Copy the above template and resize it and print it out. The bigger crocodile is slightly shorter than an A4 / letter sized piece of card. Cut out the crocodile template from the paper. You can, of course, make crocodiles any size you like.
When you cut out the paper template, make sure to even cut down the slits along the crocodile's back. Make the slits wide enough that we can draw a line through them.
Now, fold our green card in half and press down the crease firmly. Line up the back of the paper crocodile template's back with the fold in the card.
Carefully draw around the crocodile template shape and even draw down into the slits to mark them onto the folded green card.
Cut Our Our Fun Crocodile Decorations Shape
Step Two
Now we have copied the crocodile shape onto the card we can cut it out. Make sure you cut through both sides of the card at the same time. Ask an adult for help if needed.
This is so both sides of our crocodile should match very closely. Whilst our card crocodile is still folded cut down the slits in the back.
Now We Can Make Our Crocodiles Knobbly Back
Step Three
Open the fun crocodile decoration out and press it down on your table. Now fold back each of the slits we made. These little slits will look like triangles now. Fold them up and over and press them down going the other way now.
Gently close the fold of your crocodile decoration again and the folded slits will stay folded in the other direction.
Finish Making Fun Crocodile Decorations
Step Four
Finally we can add some details to our crocodile decoration. Glue on some googly eyes and then paint some sharp teeth using the small paintbrush.
Congratulations! Now we need to make some more friends for our first fun crocodile decoration.
