A Twig Rattle Is a Crazy Project That Is Fun and Decorative
We can decorate a forked stick with fun jingly objects that will make a great noise when shaken. But also add beads of other interesting things for a great decoration.
It may take a little time to find a suitable forked stick. When you find one, make sure it is dried out and then clean and prepare it to make it look nice. Peel off any loose bark and smooth and sand any rough parts.
What we need to make a twig rattle?
- Forked stick
- Elastic cord
- Beads and other interesting objects, shiny and rattly
- Bells
- Scissors
Make A Homemade Stick Rattle
Step One
Once our stick is cleaned and any sharp pieces are sanded away, we can start. To start making our twig rattle, first tie one end of the elastic to one end of the branch of the fork.
Tie it on tightly and cut off any excess elastic.

Now, thread some beads on to the elastic. Continue threading bells and decorations on to the elastic.
Have fun being creative and don't worry about making your twig rattle look too neat and tidy. It can look crazy and weird, that is interesting too.

Once you have a random collection of fun rattly things on your twig rattle, tie the other end of the elastic to the other branch of your forked twig.
Try and make the elastic reasonably tight.

Now keep going with our amazing, interesting instrument. Do a few more layers down our twig of elastic and beads, bells and objects. Tie off the end and cut off any excess elastic.
There are lots of craft projects that are just purely about the creativity and expressing your feelings and emotions through your art.
So enjoy the process of making. And once you get the idea of this project, think about way you could improve or adapt it. Maybe make something bigger or for the garden. Maybe make a long walking stick like a wizard. Maybe make something that will scare bird away from your seeds in the garden.
