I always make these fun little paper bags for my kids to give to their friends when they have a party. The kids love to get involved with making them for their friends. All you need for the first design is some coloured paper, sticky tape and ribbon, and some basic crafting tools.

To start making your paper bags, find a simple paper bag template and enlarge it to your chosen size. Then transfer the template onto some stiff paper in any colour of your choice. Make sure that you refer to your template to fold the bag in the correct places, as some will need to be folded one way and the rest the opposite way. Use a ruler and scissors to score the paper to make the folds.

Next cut out the paper bags shape and stick the paper bags together at the seams using double sided sticky tape. Then use a hole punch to punch two sets of holes opposite each other at the top of the bags. These are the holes for the handles.

Now, stick some more double sided sticky tape to the inside of the bags, just below the holes that you have just punched. Leave the tape stuck with the backing still on. Then thread some ribbon or cord through the holes.

Then you can add your gifts to your paper bags before removing the backing of the sticky tape and sealing the gift bags.

Now for the crepe paper bags. Use some pinking shears to cut out a pair of rectangle shapes to your chosen size.  

Then choose a contrasting thread colour and sew the rectangles together on three sides using the zigzag stitch on a sewing machine.

Next, stick some metallic stars onto your gift bags. Then fill them with gifts, and tie the bags closed using some ribbon or cord.
