Let's Start With Our Ladybird Mobile
Step One
We want to make 4 ladybirds for our mobile. So resize and print or copy the above template so that we can cut 4 shapes from our A4 or letter size card.
Once the template is printed at the correct size cut out the oval shape. Then trace around it four times onto the red card, and then cut out the ladybird oval shapes.
Now cut out the face and spots shapes and trace around them onto the black card stock.
We need twice as many of the black pieces for both sides of the ladybird.
Cut Out All The Shapes Of Our Ladybird Template
Step Two
Once we have drawn all the shapes, cut them out. Remember we need the black head and spot shapes for both sides of each ladybird.
Start Assembling The Ladybirds For The Mobile
Step Three
Now we can use the glue to assemble each of the four ladybirds. Glue on all the black dots and faces to both sides of each ladybird.
Now we can paint the wooden battens red. Let the paint dry.
Finish Making Our Ladybird Mobile
Step Four
Now to finish making our fun ladybird mobile we can use a small paintbrush to paint white eyes onto each side of each ladybird.
Glue the battens together in a cross shape. Now make a small hole at the top of each ladybird and thread through and tie on some thread.
Then tie each of the ladybirds onto the ends of the battens. Finally we can just wrap some more thread around the central cross-section of the battens and hang our whole mobile in a nice spot of our room.
Well done making a fun ladybird mobile. Think of what other mobiles you can make.
