Decorative Floral Eggs Make a Classy Decoration
These decorative floral eggs are perfect little decorations for a dressing table, sideboard, or as little Easter gifts. They are really fun and simple to make, and you can either use wooden eggs or blown eggs. You can choose your own designs, I have chosen floral rose papers for mine, but it can be anything you like.
You can really make an interesting centre piece and talking point. Decorative floral eggs are a great project for adults or even little children. Try and make them fit into the colours in your interior. Or go wild and decorate them in a wild and crazy fasshion.
To Make These Decorative Floral Eggs You Will Need
Materials
- Decorative Floral Paper or Wrapping Paper
- PVA Glue
- Wooden or Blown Eggs
- Clear Nail Varnish/Polish

- Small Sharp Scissors
- Container for PVA Glue
- Fine Artists Paint Brush
How To Decoupage And Decorate Eggs
Step 1
Start by deciding whether you would like to use wooden eggs or blown eggs, as either will work well. Then cut out a selection of small floral designs from the decorative papers and wrapping papers. Search for interesting shapes in the papers that will fit, and cut them out.
Think about the design ahead of sticking. Layout your papers on the label and move them around to get a design that looks nice.
Step 2
Next, using PVA glue, stick the flower cut outs on to the eggs. Make sure that you overlap the edges a little to ensure that you cover the whole surface. All of the shell needs to be covered.
How To Varnish Decoupage Eggs
Step 3
Once the glue is completely dry, cover the eggs with four coats of clear nail varnish/polish. And ensure that you allow each coat to dry before applying the next coat.
This varnish will give extra protection to the paper and stop it peeling off. But also give a nice finish and make your decorative eggs look more professional.
