How To Make Easy Party Bag Cones
It is really nice to make your own little party bag cones for handing out treats and gifts. These party favour bags are not just for parties. They are perfect for Halloween and Easter and any other special occasion.
Our little party bags have fun handles and pretty details and are super easy to make and decorate. They are easy for children to hold of all ages and eat all those yummy treats inside.
What do we need to make easy party bag cones?
- 1 large dinner plate
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Stapler
- 30cm or 12 inches square pieces of card per cone
- PVA glue
- Rick rack trim
- Sweets and chocolate or treats
Let's Start Making Our Easy Party Bag Cones
Step One
First we can use the large dinner plate as a template to draw around. Place the plate on the sheet of card and draw around the plate. Now use a ruler and draw a line down the centre of the circle we drew. You can fold the circle in half to get the centre line if you don't have a ruler handy.
This circle will make two semi-circles. Each semi-circle will make one easy party bag cone. So cut out the circle first. Then cut the circle in half, so we have two semi-circles.
Finally we need to cut out a handle. Cut a strip from the card measuring 2 x 20cms or 1 x 8 inches.
Roll Up The Cone For Our Party Bags
Step Two
Now take one semi-circle of card. Let's start to roll it up. This can be a little fiddly, so take your time and hold the point if it helps.
Roll the card up into the cone shape. Then use a staple to hold it closed. Ask an adult to hold the shape for you whilst you staple it closed.
Decorate Your Easy Party Bag Cones
Step Three
Now you can decorate your party cones however you like. But here we will use rick rack trim to make our cones look amazing. Before you glue, wrap the rick rack trim around the top of the cone to measure how much we need. Mark the length you need and cut to length.
Then use some glue around the top of the cone to glue on the trim. Hold the trim in place until it is dry.
Finish Making Our Easy Party Bag Cones
Step Four
Now to finish, all we need to do is attach the handle. Apply a blob of glue to both ends of the handle. And glue the ends on the inside of the top of the cones. Hold the ends of the handle in place until the glue starts to stick.
Let all the glue dry thoroughly. Now all we need to do is fill our easy party bag cones with lovely gifts and have a fun party.
