Making Vintage Antiqued Writers Gift Wrap Paper
Stage 1
Begin by printing out or photocopying your chosen writing onto plain white paper, it could even be music paper if you wish, as it will still have the same effect. I have selected some vintage writing to photocopy and use for my wrapping paper design.
I enlarged my copy by 200% and printed it off on larger paper. You can choose how much you would like to enlarge by. I would recommend bigger for large presents and smaller for smaller presents to be scale appropriate.
Stage 2
Next, use diluted watercolour paints to tint the plain white paper with streaks of the yellow ochre and the pink colours. This will give your paper an antiqued vintage look. Then leave it to dry thoroughly.
Wrapping A Gift In Antique Writers Gift Wrap Paper
Stage 3
Once dry, to wrap around a box, place the box into the centre of the wrapping paper and start pulling up the edges of the paper. Stick each section down using the sticky tape as you go. Then, cut a small round disc of the paper, slightly smaller than the top of the box and glue this down to cover the gathered paper edges.
Stage 4
Now, cut three equal lengths of ribbon and tie them into simple knots on the top of the box. Then finally, trim the ends of the ribbon to make them the same length. Now you have a beautifully wrapped present.
Congratulations, you have completed the antique writers gift wrap project. Now you can see how simple it was, use your new skills and make more fantastic, personalised gift wrap.
