Making A Stamp For An Inca Inspired Bird Lampshade
Step 1
Start by photocopying or printing out a design for your Inca inspired bird lampshade (or any other design of your choice). Then spray the back of the picture lightly with spray adhesive and stick it onto the high density foam block. Now, carefully cut around the design using a craft knife. Use the knife to scoop away the background so that your design stands out well. This will become your stamp.
Step 2
Next, put about a spoonful of PVA glue onto the flat plate. Then add a similar amount of wallpaper paste and some drops of a golden brown paint. Mix it together thoroughly. Then run a small paint roller through the mixture to coat the stamp evenly before using it. You may want to do a trial print to make sure that it comes out well before printing on your lampshade.

Step 3
Next, print the bird (or whatever design you have chosen) onto the lampshade in several places by evenly pressing the stamp onto the surface and carefully removing it. The wallpaper paste helps to make the paint more gelatinous to create an interesting texture to the lampshade when you lift the stamp off.
Step 4
Finally, add a few drops of the darker brown paint to the mixture, and mix well. Stamp some more in the gaps using the darker colour. This will give extra depth to your design.
