Oh My Dear This Butterfly Wrapping Paper Is Fun
I remember when I was young, my mother made me a Dougal cake from the magic roundabout. To this day I can still remember the absolute and ridiculous excitement I felt getting that cake. Often it's the little things that can make a huge difference in someone's life. Or at least create a wonderful little memory.
So create a special memory for someone you love. Make some themed wrapping paper. Making wrapping paper is one of my most favourite craft things to do. And this pretty butterfly wrapping paper is so much fun to make. You just need some basic craft materials and equipment.
Also, you can choose any colours that you like for yours. And you can apply the same technique and steps to other designs.

Making A Butterfly Stencil Design For Our Butterfly Wrapping Paper
Stage 1
To start making your pretty butterfly wrapping paper, begin by tracing a butterfly template. You can either print one out or photocopy one. Make it larger if you wish. Then place a piece of acetate over it and use a marker pen to draw the wings for the first butterfly stencil.
Then use a second piece of acetate to make a stencil of the body and wing markings of the butterfly.
Stage 2
Next, carefully cut out both of the stencils using a craft knife and cutting mat. Then secure the first stencil lightly to the coloured paper using some pieces of masking tape. Now stipple on the red paint (or a colour of your choice) using a stiff artists paintbrush.
It's best not to use too much paint and do a few layers. Reposition your stencil and keep going. Cover the butterfly wrapping paper with cute little butterflies.
Finish Our Butterfly Wrapping Paper
Stage 3
Let all the paint dry from our stencilling. Now we can work on the next stage. Secure the next stencil in place with a little masking tape. The clear acetate is great for this as we can see through it to get good alignment.
Now stipple through some black paint to add more details to your butterfly wrapping paper. Finally let the paper totally dry and marvel at your brilliant creation. Don't worry if a few of the butterflies didn't come out exactly as planned. Personally I like a few mistakes here and there. Handmade and homemade is more important than perfect.
Everything from a factory is too perfect. I would rather have a wonderful, perfect memory for my loved one any day of the week.
