I really love giving gifts in pretty boxes, and I really loved making this spring bee gift box. They are perfect for Birthdays, Easter, or just for a random gift. You can choose any colour box that you like to decorate with some cute bees. Simple craft materials can make really wonderful detailed designs.

I really love wrapping gifts in something handmade, it always seems to make things feel a little more special, as you put in that extra thought for someone special.

To begin making your own pretty bee gift box, find and trace a template of a bee that you like. You may need to adjust the size to fit your box. Then fold a sheet of black paper in half, and then in half once again. Then position your template across the folded corner so that the ends of the bees wings are touching the folds. And then draw around the template with a white pencil.

Making sure that the bees remain touching and together held by the wings, carefully cut out your design. Then carefully unfold. Make two sets of these bees. Then draw the bees yellow stripes on using yellow acrylic paint. Paint the wings as shown.

Next, glue one of the circles of joined bees to the lid of the bee gift box. Then cut the second set of bees in half and then stick them onto the sides of the gift box. To protect the box, cover it in a layer or two of clear acrylic varnish. Now you have a lovely bee gift box to hold a gift for someone special.
