Start Making Rolls For Our Simple 3D Christmas Card
Begin by wrapping the 150 x 150mm (6 x 6in) square of patterned paper around the pencil.
Continue Rolling Paper Tubes
Roll the paper strip tightly around the pencil, creating a roll that reaches halfway up the paper square. Apply a thin line of PVA glue along the edge of the roll using a paintbrush.
Carefully Glue The Paper Christmas Tubes
Roll the paper over the glued area and hold it in place until the glue sets.
Trim Your Christmas Paper Tubes For Your Simple 3D Christmas Card
Gently slide the pencil out from the paper tube, and then use a craft knife to trim away any excess paper.
Continue To Make A Number Of Paper Tubes
Repeat steps 1 to 4 to craft a total of twelve paper tubes. Refer to the photograph below to determine the desired lengths for each tube.
Glue The Tubes To Your Simple 3D Christmas Card
Arrange the cut tubes in ascending order of size on the front of your card blank. Once you are satisfied with the arrangement, apply a line of glue to the back of each tube where the ends meet.
Finish Making Our Simple 3D Christmas Card
To finish, securely attach each tube to the card blank as demonstrated in the image above.
When working with your paper, take note of its grain. It's advisable to work along the grain as it will make the paper easier to curl.
