A Vintage Italian Papercut Is Smart And Sophisticated
Italian paper cutting is a beautiful and intricate art that hardly needs any materials to make. Just take some black and white paper and something to cut it and stick it down with. Paper cutting is becoming more and more popular. You can make any design that you wish. There are even some templates online, or you can design and cut your own.
If you are looking for a craft project that is simple in concept, but takes a little time to complete, try a vintage Italian papercut. The end results are always amazing, even if you make a few mistakes along the way.
I personally find cutting the little fiddly bit quite relaxing and the reveal makes it all worth while.

Firstly, photocopy your chosen pattern onto a plain white piece of paper. Then fold a black piece of paper in half. Don't worry too much about the design, have fun learning the process. Maybe try searching the internet for papercut templates.
Step 2
Next, use the spray adhesive to stick the photocopied piece of paper which is the pattern, onto the black folded piece of paper.

Step 3
Now, carefully cut the design out using a craft knife and a cutting mat. It is best to work from the middle outwards to the edges. Make sure you have a very sharp knife which is more pointy if you can. The sharper the knife the more fun the cutting will be.
Take your time, get into the zone and use this time to relax and just enjoy the papercut process.
Step 4
Then gently remove the pattern, do this slowly and carefully to avoid breaking it. Press the papercut piece flat by placing it under a piece of tracing paper and rubbing over the top of it with the back of a spoon. You can now carefully stick it to a contrasting piece of paper if you wish.
