What Do We Need To Make A Pressed Flower Butterfly Picture
- Wooden picture frame
- White acrylic paint
- Paintbrush
- Pressed Flowers, petals and leaves
- Glue
- Plain white paper
- Scissors
Let's Paint Our Frame For Our Butterfly Picture
Step One
You will notice even our picture frame is decorated with pressed flowers.
So let's start by painting your wooden frame. Use the acrylic paint and make sure to give the frame a good covering of paint. Let the paint dry. If you can still see some wood showing through, give the frame another coat of paint.
Add Pressed Flowers To Our Picture Frame
Step Two
For this pressed flower butterfly picture project we need to have some pressed flowers already prepared. You can press flowers between heavy books or in a flower press. It is best if the flowers are flatter types of flowers, rather than more rounded flowers like roses. Petals are good to press too. Press the flowers until they are completely dried out.
So back to the pressed flower butterfly picture project. Once all the paint on our frame is dry, we can decorate it. Collect your pressed flowers together. And lay out some interesting petals on the frame. Move the petals around on the frame until you get a design you like.
Once you are happy with the flower frame layout, glue the petals down.
Let's Make A Butterfly From Pressed Flowers
Step Three
Now we can cut a piece of white paper to fit the frame we have. Now lay out again more pieces of your dried flowers, leaves and stems on our white paper. We want to lay out our dried flowers in the shape of a butterfly.
If you can't remember what a butterfly looks like, just search butterfly shapes on the internet and use this as a reference.
Finish Our Pretty Pressed Flower Butterfly Picture
Step Four
Now to finish, once we have laid out all the dried flowers in a nice shape that resembles a butterfly, we can start to glue them down. Carefully glue each piece of dried flower down to make our beautiful butterfly picture.
Let the glue dry. Finally, carefully pop your butterfly picture into the frame.
