Making Rosehip Treatment Balm Is A Joy
Balm type products result in a perfectly natural and organic product. There is no added water in balms, so we do not need an emulsifier. So we can add beeswax or jojobas or natural wax as a thickener.
Beeswax is absolutely wonderful to use. With the added bonus of the lovely aroma of honey. But the beeswax does create a heavier barrier on the skin than jojoba wax. It can be a bot too heavy if used on the face. So I advise to use it only for foot, hand or lip balm products. For these products the extra weight and barrier are a bonus.
For those with skin that is very dry and if you are not prone to skin blemishes or spots, then beeswax is a good choice.

Let's Start Making Our Rosehip Treatment Balm
Step One
First we need to melt in the double boiler, the jojoba wax with the shea butter. It is best to hold the melted mixture on the heat for around 20 minutes. This will stop the shea butter from turning grainy as it cools. However, the performance of the Rosehip Treatment Balm is not affected if you miss this stage out.
Now Start Adding The Core Ingredients
Step Two
Now we can add in the almond and jojoba oils. Make sure to stir carefully until all the ingredients become liquid.
Let's Add The Final Oils To Our Rosehip Treatment Balm
Step Three
Now we need to remove the mixture from the heat. Let the mixture cool and little, then add in the rosehip seed oil, Vitamin E oil and borage oil. These oils are heat sensitive, so add them carefully and keep stirring.
Lastly Add In The Remaining Ingredients Into Our Balm Mixture
Step Four
Now we can finally add in the last remaining ingredients. Be careful to note the quantities. Add in the patchouli essential oil, along with the geranium, rose otto and sandalwood oils.
How To Use The Rosehip Treatment Balm
Finally pour carefully into the jar and leave to set.
To use the rosehip treatment balm we can take a small amount and gently massage into our freshly cleansed skin. This balm is an excellent refresher for stressed skin or a tired body. Try making smaller containers to give as gifts or carry around more conveniently.
