Materials Needed To Make Quilted Bunting
- 8 x 20in. (20 x 50cm) each of eight coordinating fabrics
- 100in. (250cm) of wide cotton trimming
Let's Start Making Our Fabric Quilted Bunting
Step One
Begin by using the provided bunting template to cut three triangles from each of your eight chosen fabrics. In total, you should have 24 triangles, which will yield approximately 100 inches (250 cm) of bunting. Place two triangles together, ensuring their right sides are facing each other, and mix up the fabrics and designs as you like.
Machine stitch along the sides of the triangles using a 1/4-inch (5 mm) seam allowance, leaving the top edge open. Be cautious not to cut through the stitching when trimming off the triangle's point. Turn the triangles right side out and press them. Repeat this process for all 24 triangles.

Step Two
Fold the length of the cotton trimming in half along its length and press it to create a crease. Insert the top edge of each triangle into the folded trimming, leaving approximately 4 inches (10 cm) of space between each triangle. Use pins to secure the triangles in place along the folded trim.

Step Three
Turn the ends of the cotton trimming in to neaten them, aligning with the side of the final triangle at each end. Machine stitch all along the trimming, making sure you catch the tops of the triangles in the seam to attach them.
Tip
If you want to tie up the bunting at each end, start with a 36in. (90cm) longer length of trimming and space the end flags at least 18in. (45cm) in from the end on each side. Position the other flags equally between the two end ones.
