Start Making Our Quilted Egg Cozy
Step One
Begin by copying the octagon template onto the Bondaweb backing ten times. Cut out the Bondaweb octagons and apply them to the back of the patterned fabric scraps, then carefully cut out the shapes. Take a 4 x 5in. (10 x 12.5cm) piece of blue fabric and iron the octagons onto the right side.
Cut Out The Shapes For The Egg Cozy
Step Two
Next, place the octagon appliqués onto the batting (wadding), pin the egg cozy template in place, and cut around it through both layers. Repeat this step with the second piece of blue fabric and another layer of batting (wadding).
Assemble The Pieces Of The Egg Cozy
Step Three
With the two halves of the cozy right sides together and the batting (wadding) on the outside, fold the ribbon in half and position it between the layers at the top center of the cozy. Use your sewing machine to stitch around the edge, ensuring to leave the bottom edge open for turning. Trim any excess fabric and then turn the cozy right side out.
Add Accessories To Our Egg Cozy
Step Four
Now, back two different pieces of fabric with yellow felt using Bondaweb. Create two yo-yos (Suffolk puffs), and carefully cut off the back to reveal the pleated flower shape inside. To add a delightful touch, adorn the central gathered area of each flower with some beads.

Step Five
To complete your quilted egg cozy, securely stitch the flowers to the top, and for an elegant finishing touch, attach a length of white trimming along the bottom edge of the cozy using hand stitching.
With these simple steps, you'll have crafted a set of charming egg cozies that add a cozy and personalized touch to your family's breakfast table. Enjoy your crafting adventure!
