Start Making Our Pretty Lavender Bag
Step One
Begin by cutting out eight squares of floral fabric, each measuring 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm). Fold each square in half, with the wrong sides together and the fold line at the top. Next, fold the top corners down to the bottom center, creating a triangle shape. Press the folds in place.

Step Two
Fold the netting in half, pressing along the fold line. Then, open it out and fold it in half the other way and diagonally, pressing each time to create a star of fold lines that will guide your positioning. Arrange a triangle at the center of each side, pointing toward the middle, with the side showing a center join facing upward. Baste (tack) them in place.
Continue Arranging The Remaining Fabric Pieces
Step Three
Arrange the remaining four triangles on top and between the first four so that their tips align with the sides of the triangles on each side. Baste (tack) these in place to create a Somerset Star patchwork.

Step Four
Cut four strips of floral fabric, each measuring 1 1/4 x 6 inches (3 x 15 cm). Pin and sew one strip at the top and one at the bottom first, then add a strip on either side, using a 1/4-inch (5 mm) seam each time. Press all seams away from the netting and remove the basting (tacking) that was holding the triangles in place.
Sew The Back Of The Lavender Bag
Step Five
Cut a 6 x 6-inch (15 x 15 cm) piece of floral fabric for the back of the lavender bag. Place the front and back together with right sides facing, and machine stitch around the edges, using a 1/4-inch (5 mm) seam and leaving a gap at the top for turning. Turn the bag right side out and press it.
Add The Final Decorations To The Bag
Step Six
Follow the instructions to make two yo-yos (Suffolk puffs) for decoration, using pink and green silk. Stitch these on top of each other in the left-hand corner of the lavender bag and finish with the pink button.
To Finish We Can Fill The Bag With Lavender
Step Seven
Fill the bag with dried lavender, insert the ends of a loop of white trimming into the gap, turn the edges under, and hand stitch the gap closed. To add a final touch, stitch a small ribbon bow on top and adorn four of the star points with heart embellishments.
With these steps, you'll create a charming lavender bag that not only adds a touch of beauty to your space but also infuses it with the relaxing aroma of lavender. Enjoy your creation!
