I always love to get my friends dogs a little gift for Christmas, and I thought that this year I would make them something. I would like to make things like toys, beds and winter coats. I saw these sewing patterns for dogs in Hobbycraft, but would ideally like more variation in shape for the dog beds, and something with patterns for dog toys, like those soft toy bones that they sometimes have in the shops. Either physical or downloadable sewing patterns would be great.

Also, are there materials/fabrics that work better for making things for dogs than others? I would need to make sure that whatever I use is safe for my friends dogs.

And any other ideas would be most welcome. I am really looking forward to making more gifts.
