I would really love a little greenhouse for my garden as I love the idea of growing vegetables, especially in the difficult time when food prices are getting higher. I have seen this one that someone made, and I would like to make something similar, for a reasonable budget. However, I would like to make it right, and something that looks nice like this one.

I was wondering, what would be the best wood to use to build a small greenhouse? I would like it to last as well, so I am guessing that I will need something to protect the wood. So is there any recommended varnish or paint to protect it? And are there any tools etc that would make the building process easier? As I will possibly be making it on my own.

Obviously I would really love a larger one, but I am very limited on space in my garden. I also love the idea of making the bottom section by building it out of bricks, and having the top section as wood and glass.

Any ideas or advice are most welcome as I have never made anything like this or this big before.
